The DOAP Team is an alternate and more appropriate social response to substance use issues, which result in reduced pressure on Calgary Police Service, Emergency Medical Services, Calgary Transit and local hospitals.
They respond to calls from businesses, community members and other homeless-serving agencies. The DOAP team facilitate access and entry to the local service systems of shelters, health care, addiction treatment and supporting housing. You can call or text the DOAP team at 403.998.7388.
In 2005, the Downtown Outreach Addictions Partnership (DOAP) Team was founded by the Calgary Alpha House Society.
In 2021, the DOAP Program conducted more than 20,000 transports, connecting Calgarians with services and supports. The DOAP Team also has a encampment team and a needle response team (started in 2019). For the needle response team, contact them at 403.796.5334.
